Հայաստանը հայտնի էր նախկին ԽՍՀՄ-ում որպես Ծրագրային Ապահովումների եւ Բարձր Տեխնոլոգիաների արտադրական կենտրոն, կամ ինչպես սիրում են նշել շատերը ԽՍՀՄ-ի Սիլիկոնային Հովիտ (գտնել եվ նշել տարեթվերը): Հենց այդ ժամանակահատվածում Ձեւավորվեցին նաեւ Նախագծերի Կառավարման համար անհրաժեշտ մոտեցումները ГОСТ (նշել կոնկրետ), որոնք հիմնաված եւ հարմարեցված էին համապատասխան (նշել կոնկրետ) ստանդարտների վրա: Նմանատիպ համակարգված մոտեցումը օգնեց ձեւավորել ծրագրավորողների Դպրոց (Школа) իր մոտեցումներով եւ յուրահատկություններով, որը եւ իր ազդեցությունը թողեց այս ոլորտի զարգացման վրա Հայաստանում եւ ողջ ԽՍՀՄ-ում: Հայաստնում ձեւավորվեցին մի քանի խոշոր կենտրոններ եւ ինստիտուտներ որոք զբաղվում էին ծարագրային եւ բարձր տեխնոլոգիաների արտադրությանմբ (Նշել օրինակներ, աշխատակիցների թվերով, e.g. Nairi, Mergelyan):
